Policies and Procedures
It is important that both the client and therapist have a clear understanding of the massage therapy policies and procedures. As a new client you need to be informed about massage therapy polices in order to provide informed consent prior to the massage session. Hands in Motion massage and bodywork holds these policies and procedures to a very high standard.
Please feel free to look at the AMTA and NCBTMB Codes of Ethics and Scope of Practice. These codes define the boundaries and limitations of every session and are not only for the massage therapist. It's a wonderful guide for the client in choosing a bodywork specialist that maintains these high standards'
Appointments
Scheduling appointments can be done online with 4 hour advanced notice, or by calling with a 2-hour notice. Please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as the current appointment is finished.
Book before you leave your appointment for within the following four weeks, and your next one hour is $70 or hour and half is $100. You must keep this appointment, or reschedule for within one week, to keep the "monthly client" price. If you cancel without rescheduling, your next appointment is full price.
Appointments may be available beyond the listed hours by special arrangement. Please contact us with all of your questions. We will gladly discuss your needs and address all of your concerns regarding scheduling, expectations, and whether massage is appropriate for you. We strongly encourage scheduling a regular series of appointments to ensure time is available for you.
Cancellation Policy
Our time together is important. Unless there is an emergency, it is requested that you cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance or pay the missed appointment fee in full. Call and leave a message on the answering machine to cancel appointments or change scheduling. Clients who fail to show up for their scheduled appointment time will not be scheduled for future appointments. Gift Certificates may be forfeited for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. Gift certificates will be forfeited for no shows.
Lateness Policy
We request that you arrive early for your appointment. For first time appointments, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Our massage therapy policies state: If you arrive late for your appointment, the time left will be used to its best advantage. If the massage therapist is late for the appointment, the remaining time will be used and the client will receiove a discount or will not be charged for the massage session.
Sickness Policy
Hands and Motion recognizes that both massage therapist and clients are vulnerable to infections and therefore ask clients to cancel appointments when they are feeling unwell.
Decorum
Inappropriate behavior WILL NOT be tolerated. Any comments or suggestions of sexual nature will cause the termination of the session immediately. The client will pay full, non-discounted price. The client will not be permitted to return.
